Faces of Grand Prairie Getting a Website Update
The Faces of Grand Prairie will be using the Substack platform to provide Grand Prairians a more personalized user experience.
There are exciting things happening at the Faces of Grand Prairie!
NAME CHANGE
We’ve referred to the Faces of Grand Prairie as a community podcast since our first interview in 2019. Since then, we’ve expanded into other types of media. Our name will be changing from Faces of Grand Prairie Community Podcast to Faces of Grand Prairie Media Group. We are still featuring interviews, but rather than audio-only podcast episodes, our interviews are now in the form of videos. We’ve also ventured into news articles, joining the United States Press Agency in 2025. We are even working on producing a full length documentary on Grand Prairie, restaurant reviews, and much more! Instead of finding us on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and several other platforms, all Faces of Grand Prairie media will be located on our website, FacesofGrandPrairie.org using the structure of the Substack Platform.
SUBSTACK PLATFORM
Substack is a website designed for local news and will allow users to personalize their engagement with Grand Prairie topics of interest to them. The Substack app allows people to access all content on their mobile device, including watching all videos ad-free, as opposed to YouTube, with interruptions of non-relevant ads.
NEW TOPICS OF INTEREST
Our new website will feature the following topics of interest:
Breaking News, City Government, GPISD, GPISD Alumni, History, Neighborhoods, Music and Entertainment, Business, Sports, Dining, Real Estate, Active Adults 55+, Churches, and Local Elections.
Users can subscribe to any and all topics for which they’d like to receive email updates and can engage with the topics of their choosing on the website. Each topic is also housed in its own section of the website that allows users to interact in discussion groups.
BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVERTISING
Businesses will now have the opportunity to advertise directly on the platform to the section most relevant to their target audience. For example, if you are a driving school, you might want to advertise on the GPISD section of the website, where it’s more likely you’d reach parents of teenagers of driving age. Businesses will have various advertising opportunities such as sponsoring individual episodes, being a featured guests or co-hosts on episodes or they can be the main sponsor of an entire section (“Grand Prairie Real Estate News brought to you by Jenna Pecor with Bancroft Realty!”) By housing all content in the Substack platform, it will allow for more specific analytical data and engagement with a specific Grand Prairie audience.
We intend to keep subscriptions and access to content free for users and will rely on advertising from local businesses. Users do not have to subscribe to enjoy the content on the website, but subscribing will give users email updates when new episodes are released and a free monthly newsletter.
